TelkomGroup Tops Off NeutraDC Nxera Batam Hyperscale Data Center to Power the AI Ecosystem

The hyperscale data center is purpose-built to support the growing demand for AI and Cloud infrastructure  

across the region.

Batam, 30 October 2025 – PT Teknologi Data Infrastruktur (NeutraDC Nxera Batam), a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk through PT Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC), held the Topping Off Ceremony for its first hyperscale data center facility in Batam under the theme “Powering AI Connectivity: Batam Digital Hub”, Thursday, 30 October 2025. 

Located in the Kabil Industrial Estate, NeutraDC Nxera Batam marks a major construction milestone for the project, with its first building (BTM-1) offering an initial IT load capacity of 18 MW, scalable up to 54 MW in subsequent phases. The facility underscores TelkomGroup’s strong commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s digital infrastructure and positioning Batam as a regional hub for AI and data-driven ecosystems in Southeast Asia. 

Telkom Indonesia President Director Dian Siswarini emphasized that the topping-off is not merely a construction milestone, but a symbol of the Group’s commitment to building a robust and sovereign digital foundation for Indonesia. 

“The Batam data center will serve as a key backbone of Indonesia’s digital economy transformation. TelkomGroup is committed to continuously expanding its data center infrastructure and regional footprint to reinforce Indonesia’s position in the Southeast Asian digital economy landscape,” said Dian during the ceremony in Batam. 

Echoing this sentiment, Bhimo Aryanto, Senior Director of Business Performance & Asset Optimization at PT Danantara Asset Management, highlighted the project’s wider impact. 

NeutraDC Nxera Batam represents a strategic investment that not only strengthens Indonesia’s digital infrastructure but also drives cross-sector collaboration and attracts sustainable digital investments to Batam and the region,” he noted. 

Positioned as one of Indonesia’s largest and most strategic data centers, NeutraDC Nxera Batam will provide world-class digital infrastructure designed to support next-generation workloads including AI, Cloud, and Big Data. 

“What we are building in Batam is more than a data center. It’s a bridge connecting Indonesia’s digital strength with the region. Located at the heart of the SIJORI growth triangle (Singapore–Johor–Riau), NeutraDC Nxera Batam will serve as a regional gateway for data flows and the digital economy across Southeast Asia,” said Indrama YM Purba, CEO of NeutraDC Nxera Batam. 

“Together with our partners Nxera (Singtel) and Medco, we are developing an ecosystem that empowers businesses, strengthens communities, and fuels sustainable innovation for the future,” he added. 

Strengthening Regional Connectivity and Partnerships 

During the ceremony, NeutraDC Nxera Batam also signed a Master Service Agreement (MSA) with seven key partners from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) and telecommunications sectorsPermana Net, Super Sistem Group, LitUp Network Indonesia, IforteTelin, Matrix Nap Info, and Moratelindo. 

The collaboration reinforces NeutraDC Nxera Batam’s position as a carrier-neutral data center, offering customers high network diversity, flexibility, and resilience.

Achieving Global Standards 

In conjunction with the topping-off, NeutraDC Nxera Batam announced that it has achieved the Uptime Institute Tier III Certification of Design Documents (TCDD), an internationally recognized standard that validates the facility’s design reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. 

The certification marks an important step toward operational readiness and reflects NeutraDC’s commitment to delivering world-class, AI-ready digital infrastructure. 

“With the structural completion of our first building and the achievement of global certification, we are one step closer to delivering a data center of the highest performance and reliability standards in the region,” concluded Indrama.
