Bangkok, Thailand – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, through its data center subsidiary NeutraDC (PT Telkom Data Ekosistem), continues to strengthen Indonesia’s and the region’s digital infrastructure landscape through its joint venture data center company, NeutraDC Nxera Batam.
The company announced that BTM-1, its first hyperscale data center facility in Batam scheduled to commence operations this year, has successfully secured commitments for its entire capacity ahead of launch. Driven by strong market demand, NeutraDC Nxera Batam has begun preparing the development of a second facility, BTM-2, to further expand capacity and support the rapidly growing demand for data center services across the Singapore–Johor–Riau Islands (SIJORI) economic corridor.
One of the strategic partners that has secured capacity at BTM-1 is Gorilla Technology, a global provider of AI, security, and data analytics solutions headquartered in London, United Kingdom, with operations spanning Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.
Under the partnership agreement, Gorilla Technology will leverage NeutraDC Nxera Batam’s data center infrastructure to support its AI deployments and digital service expansion across Asia. The presence of global technology companies further strengthens NeutraDC Nxera Batam’s position as a regional digital infrastructure hub capable of supporting the growing demand for AI, cloud, and digital services.
According to Seno Soemadji, Director of Strategic Business Development & Portfolio at Telkom Indonesia, this achievement reflects the growing strength of TelkomGroup’s transformation into a digital infrastructure company, a key pillar of its TLKM 30 strategy.
“This milestone validates Telkom’s transformation journey in building a more focused, competitive, and future-ready business portfolio. As demand for cloud, artificial intelligence, and digital services continues to accelerate across Southeast Asia, digital infrastructure will play an increasingly critical role in supporting the region’s digital economy,” said Seno.
“The trust placed in NeutraDC by global partners demonstrates Indonesia’s growing importance—particularly Batam—as a strategic component of the regional digital ecosystem. Strong market demand for BTM-1 also provides a positive signal for the development of BTM-2 as part of our commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s position within the regional digital value chain while supporting the TLKM 30 vision of creating sustainable growth engines.”

Seno added that Batam is increasingly becoming one of Indonesia’s key digital connectivity gateways, bridging domestic demand with regional digital ecosystems.
“Through the development of world-class digital infrastructure, Telkom aims to ensure that Indonesia is not only a digital market but also an integral contributor to the region’s digital ecosystem. This initiative aligns with our TLKM 30 vision to strengthen national competitiveness, foster new growth opportunities, and create sustainable value for stakeholders,” he added.
Meanwhile, Andreuw Th.A.F, CEO of NeutraDC Group, stated that securing strategic global partners such as Gorilla Technology marks an important milestone in accelerating the development of world-class data center ecosystems in Indonesia.
“We are delighted to welcome Gorilla Technology and other global partners to NeutraDC Nxera Batam. The strong market interest in our Batam facility validates the readiness of our infrastructure, service quality, and long-term development strategy in supporting digital economy growth and AI adoption across the region,” said Andreuw.
Beyond serving the digital industry’s infrastructure needs, the development of NeutraDC Nxera Batam is also expected to generate positive economic and social impact. The project is anticipated to create new employment opportunities, support the growth of local digital talent, stimulate regional economic activity, and enhance Batam’s attractiveness as a technology and digital investment destination.
Indrama YM Purba, CEO of NeutraDC Nxera Batam, highlighted Batam’s strategic advantages as an emerging digital hub.
“Batam offers a highly strategic location supported by strong international connectivity, close proximity to major regional economic centers, and a continuously improving investment environment. We continue to see strong demand for data center capacity across the SIJORI region, which underpins our plans for future expansion in Batam,” he said.
The development of NeutraDC Nxera Batam’s 100 MW data center campus is also being carried out with a strong focus on sustainability and operational efficiency, in line with TelkomGroup’s commitment to delivering responsible digital infrastructure. The company continues to prioritize energy-efficient technologies, global-standard operational governance, and development practices that support long-term environmental sustainability.
As demand for artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital services continues to accelerate across Southeast Asia, NeutraDC Nxera Batam is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting Indonesia’s digital transformation agenda while strengthening the country’s position as a regional digital hub.
