Exploring the Potential of Sustainable Data Center Business for Indonesia's Digital Transformation, Telkom Data Ecosystem Holds NeutraDC Summit 2023

Bali, September 2023 - PT Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC) held an international event, "NeutraDC Summit 2023" which took place in Bali, Monday (4/9). This event was held in the form of a panel discussion about the potential and protection of data centers, the world's digital economy and sustainability with experts at the global level. More than 100 participants from companies and data center practitioners attended the panel discussion. Not only from Indonesia, but also from other countries, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, China, India and Ireland.

Director of TelkomGroup Group Business Development, Honesti Basyir, appreciated NeutraDC's initiative in holding activities that brought together experts to discuss developments in the data center industry, including regulations and commitments to use renewable energy. With the theme “Navigating Trends to a Sustainable Future”, we hope that the NeutraDC Summit will become an annual discussion forum that focuses on discussing the important role of technology as well as concrete solutions and follow-up actions that need to be taken in guiding us all towards a sustainable future," said Honesti.

Meanwhile, Director of Wholesale & International Service TelkomGroup, Bogi Witjaksono, through his presentation, took a picture of the data center business in Indonesia, which is currently growing quite significantly. This is driven by economic growth and increased internet penetration. “Data center in Indonesia is a promising business with various growth potentials. So TelkomGroup must build excellence to be competitive compared to other data center players," said Bogi.

Bogi further said, TelkomGroup has advantages that distinguish it from competitors. First, building a value proposition as a digital ecosystem hub. Second, Telkom's data center ecosystem has low latency and is seamless. Finally, Telkom is committed to building a sustainable data center.

The NeutraDC Summit 2023 was held with the aim of broadening insight into the world's digital economic industry by bringing together experts and being attended by a number of international companies. "We are very excited to hold the NeutraDC Summit 2023. This is an extraordinary opportunity to share insights and experiences by presenting leading experts from various fields. Sharing views on trends, innovations and challenges in the digital economy, the potential of the data center industry, regulations , and a commitment to sustainability," said Director of Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC), Andreuw Th A F. 

Through this event, Andreuw hopes to simultaneously introduce NeutraDC as a safe and reliable data storage center. "This moment is also an opportunity to show our best portfolio, so that we can be trusted as a provider of data centers that are safe and have global standards," he continued.

Lately, decarbonization is one of NeutraDC's commitments in developing the business. Currently, NeutraDC has a large capacity database (hyperscale data center) in Cikarang and has implemented renewable energy. NeutraDC is also building a Hyperscale Data Center (HDC) in Batam on an area of 5 Ha. The data center built will not only serve various business needs in Indonesia, but also be able to capture spillover potential from other countries, such as Singapore and Johor Baru Malaysia. With the design of establishing three international standard campuses with an IT load capacity of 51 MW, HDC Batam will also apply renewable energy, be environmentally friendly and adopt a multi-tier system, in order to maintain optimal data security.

The NeutraDC Summit 2023 panel discussion covered various topics entitled “Regulation & Key Technology Trends Shaping Indonesia's Booming Data Center Industry” and “Developing Indonesia's Data Center for the Sustainable Future”. A number of experts from various fields attended the panel discussion at the event sponsored by Schneider Electric and Hoppecke. Such as Yonggang Wen (Associate Vice President, Nangyang Technological University); Ken Chia (Baker & McKenzie); Guan Lee (CTO ASEAN Networking and Cloud Architecture Cisco); Michael Hu (CCO of NeutraDC); Geetha Gopal (Chief Operating Officer of Verdana); PS Lee (Executive Director of ESI Founder CoolestDC); Manprit Singh (Chief AI Strategist Microsoft ASEAN); and Thomas Anthony (CTO of NeutraDC). Some of them are experts in the data center industry, digital infrastructure, experts in the field of sustainability, and law firms.
